  Although this is an older Starbucks, they've kept it updated to have a lot of the modern amenities like plug ins for your electronics. There are some cool booths where you can sit and people watch as well.
  
  It's location is great because you're in walking distance of pretty much everything downtown. Every time I've been there the service has been really fast and friendly.

  If you are reading this review, I am assuming you hold no grudge against Starbuck for being what is. Based off that assumption, the place is often the quieter and friendlier alternative to Starbucks on Spring Garden. Could be cleaner though.

  Not sure that I should be comparing this location to my Starbucks at home, but I guess it provides a frame of reference.
  
  I typically order a venti (large) half-caff (half Pike and half decaf). My usual location always has a thermos of decaf ready. I've learned (by traveling around a bit) that many locations don't brew any decaf in advance because they don't have enough demand for it. So they do something called a "pour over".
  
  Many times when I see this I order a tall or grande Pike instead - so they don't have to do the whole "pour over" thing.
  
  The cashier assured me it was no problem. They did the "pour over". The drink was ready in about two minutes and it tasted great. Two enthusiastic thumbs up for the staff!!
  
  Thumbs Up:
  The restaurant is large. Plenty of comfortable seating. Free WiFi. Excellent place to do some work.
  
  Thumbs Down:
  The milk and sugar area could have been a little cleaner - and I only saw whole milk and "cream" (probably Half & Half). No skim (nonfat) milk, which is what I usually add. :-(
  
  Your other choice for Starbucks in the immediate area is in the lobby of the Marriott. This location felt more like a 'real' Starbucks. (One minor annoyance at the Marriott location was the lack of a handheld scanner making it slightly less convenient to use the Starbucks app.)
  
  This location may be 5 minutes out of your way but it's worth it!

  Not normally a fan of Sbucks, but I end up picking this place over pretty well anywhere just because the staff are delightful.
  Shame they lost their gender neutral washrooms though, but that's the Corp not the servers.
