  Not that impressed considering all the great reviews. My bacon cheeseburger was very good but the seafood stew with mussels in a tomato base was terrible. My mother was not able to even est it. Nice enough atmosphere, but busy and loud. So so service, bit slow and disinterested. Ugly, unpleasant construction next door, but that's temporary and not their fault. Expensive.

  Wonderful place to eat. Almost everything is organic and local. There are two seating areas, upstairs and downstairs, plus two bars. The building is incredibly old for Halifax, probably over 100 years, and the decor meshes well with the architecture. There are lots of monkey figurines. It's certainly a busy place in the heart of downtown. Prices range from the teens to the thirty dollar range. The service is really professional, and work hard to meet the large clientele. The food is really quite good. I ordered Nova Scotia Salmon, which was pan fried with an onion and maple syrup glaze, garden fresh vegetables and fries (since they were out of baked potatoes). It was excellent. I even took what I couldn't finish home and it was still great. I highly recommend this place for both dates and medium to large groups that want a good meal and good time.
